Goodbye, Brother Tom

Goodbye to the boy in the Flintstones shirt,
The one who dug tunnels in the dirt
That once piled high in the front lawn
Goodbye to boy with his finger in the cat’s eye.
Goodbye to the boy riding his skateboard down the sidewalk.
Good bye to the young man who washed his dentist’s car
Once a week to earn the money to buy a bike.
Goodbye to the young man who made the shots each night
Playing basketball on the drive way court.
Goodbye to the young man who waxed his surfboard in the yard.
Goodbye to the young man who was friend to his friends.
Goodbye to the man who was son and brother,
To the man who became husband and father.
Goodbye to the family man who built up a home
Filled with security and values.
Goodbye to the man who provided the final rest of an infant gone too early
Goodbye to the man, who held his faith, quietly, gently,
A man in whom there was no guile, a man of patience.
Goodbye to the man whose feet were fleet and whose soul rode the waves.
Goodbye.  God be with ye, God be with ye.  Be ye with God.

Bible Verse to Remember:
"But we do not want you to be uninformed, brethren, about those who are asleep, so that you will not grieve as do the rest who have no hope.  For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who have fallen asleep in Jesus."
I Thessalonians 4:13,14
